So finally Salesforce is here with new release and some amazing new features. And as usual, I am starting my series of posts on some of my favorite features from Winter ’20 release.
To start with, let’s talk about what’s there new for Salesforce Community.
Use Updated Templates
To take advantage of the latest features in communites, we need to use the latest templates. So go ahead and update your template today. This is only applicable if you have created your community before Summer ’19.
Go to your community builder, and you will find a flag on your settings icon.
Go to your community builder, and you will find a flag on your settings icon as shown below.
Click it and you will find option to update.
Want to build your own fancy customizable pages, build your pages using Flexible Layouts. Adjust your columns, add sections, use background images and color, and lot more.
On your community builder, go to Pages menu, then select New Page > Standard Page. And then select Flexible Layout to begin buiding your page.
You can also create a page variation to use flexible layout for existing pages.
Build Communities as a Team : Contributors
Now you can have a team manage the community. Give your team members role-based access to easily control who can do what while customizing your site in Community Builder. Following roles can be assigned while building your team.
|Experience Admin||Full access to community builder, can manage contributors, and publish the site.|
|Publisher||Can publish the site in an assigned community, can’t manage contributors, and have read-only access to the Community Worspaces Administrator > Contributors tab.|
|Builder||Can buid the assigned community, can’t publish the site or manage contributors, and have read-only access to the Community Worspaces Administrator > Contributors tab.|
|Viewer||Havve read-only access to Community Builder in an assigned community, can’t publish the site or manage contributors, and have read-only access to the Community Worspaces Administrator > Contributors tab.|
Wait for my next series of post to know about my other favourite Winter ’20 release features.
